Charlie Moore to transfer to Kansas

Charlie Moore will be a Kansas Jayhawk, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday, April 25.

Moore, a Morgan Park alumnus, averaged 12.2 points and 3.5 assists for Cal during his freshman year, but he elected to transfer in order to be closer to home.

Scout asked Moore about his decision. He cited the coaching staff, location and winning tradition as reasons he picked Kansas.ย Moore will sit out next season, and then have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Whitney Young’s Lucas Williamson commits to Loyola

Whitney Young senior Lucas Williamson has committed to Loyola, he announced via Twitter.

Williamson, a first-team all-state selection by the IBCA, was an integral part of the Dolphins winning a Class 4A state championship this season.

Williamson’s commitment gives Loyola its third in-state recruit in the Class of 2017. He is part of a recruiting class that includes Jacobs’ Cameron Krutwig and Larkin’s Christian Negron.

Morgan Park forward Lenell Henry commits to Northern Arizona

Morgan Park forward Lenell Henry dunks vs. Hillcrest.

Morgan Park senior center Lenell Henry has committed to Northern Arizona, he announced via Twitter on March 24.

Last weekend, Henry helped Morgan Park win a Class 3A state championship. Henry is a 6-foot-9 forward who rebounds well, finishes inside and can knock down a jumper.

Henry is the second player from the Chicago Public League to commit to Northern Arizona this year. North Lawndale senior point guard Carlos Hines also committed to Northern Arizona.

Henry had offers from Northern Arizona, Mississippi Valley State and UTEP at the time of his commitment, according to Verbal Commits. He played for the Mac Irvin Fire on the AAU circuit.
